Being in Truth
What is Satsang?
"Sat" means "true" or "Truth." "Sang" (or "Sanga") refers to coming together in community. We gather in Satsang to share the fundamental Truth that we are not—as most people believe—individual beings, but rather part of a universal consciousness—God.
Direct experience
During Satsang, you experience the presence of a spiritual teacher in a very direct way and are guided in the experience of your true nature. The fellowship with other seekers provides support in this process. During Satsang, those interested may ask questions, which Soham will answer.

“You are not a body, not a person, not an ego. You are that which is eternal, that which has always been and always will be. This Truth must be felt; it cannot be understood intellectually.
It is a matter of perspective: When we direct our attention outward and worry about money, popularity, job security, and relationships, we miss the meaning of existence in a
human body.
So we begin to believe that we are a soul and not a body. Then we ask the question that most people never ask: “Why did I come into this body as a soul? Somehow it doesn’t make sense to be born, to go through the painful process of growing up, to complete an education, to find a job.
We are told that if we do everything right, we will go to heaven. If we truly believed that we are worthy of heaven and will therefore be united with divine energy when we die, we would not fear death. We would not view the death of a loved one as a tragedy, but would celebrate it. But deep down, we know that this is not the reality.
In fact, we must attain this final state of union with God while we are still in a body, and that is precisely why we have taken on a body. This is called liberation: when we stop seeing ourselves as a body, when we know that we are not separate from God and never have been.”

Retreats
Here, you can share and clarify questions and inner processes in conversation with Soham. During a retreat, Satsang takes place twice a day, at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. A 30-minute group meditation is held before the evening Satsang. Satsang is conducted in English and simultaneously translated into German.

“During a retreat, silence is the highest—indeed, the most significant—element. The habit of speaking keeps the illusion and the idea of the ‘I’ alive. In silence, in this moment—there is no ‘I’ and no ‘you.’ There is only Being. Peace in this freedom.”

Full Moon Intensives
In many traditions, the full moon is regarded as a powerful source of energy in the sky. This energy can influence our inner balance by intensifying our emotions, sharpening our intuition, and activating our subconscious. We look forward to connecting with the special energy of the full moon through meditation and Satsang, and celebrating it together.
Meditation and mindfulness help channel impulses, ground oneself, and stay calm. Whenever possible, we hold a purifying fire ceremony during this time.
The “Free from Karma Meditation” is also offered every month on the day of the full moon in the early morning.
